Our Staff Prediction for Cowboys at Vikings

By Dustin Baker

The VikingsTerritory collective staff prediction for the Minnesota Vikings date with the Dallas Cowboys is ready.

The Vikings can hit a 9-1 record this weekend for the first time since 2009. The franchise has started with a 9-1 record five times — in 1969, 1970, 1973, 1998, and 2009. Minnesota is 15-18 (.454) all-time versus Dallas.

The Cowboys are 6-3 through 10 weeks, trying to keep pace with the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants in the NFC East. The Vikings, at 8-1, can now sharpen focus on homefield advantage in the postseason.

The writers at VikingsTerritory predict the Vikings will win their ninth game of 2022.

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports.

Most of our contributors picked Minnesota over Dallas, evidently confident the team won’t enter Week 11 with a Week 10 hangover. The win over the Bills was intoxicating, to be sure.

Here’s how the panel sees the score for Week 11:

Dustin Baker: Vikings Win, 27-20
Sean Borman: Cowboys Win, 28-27
Dominique Clare: Vikings Win, 34-31
Janik Eckardt: Vikings Win, 30-24
Josh Frey: Vikings Win, 27-24
Will Goodwin: Vikings Win, 26-24
Kyle Joudry: Cowboys Win, 27-24
Mitch Massman: Vikings Win, 24-23
Adam New: Vikings Win, 35-21
Ted Schwerzler: Vikings Win, 24-21
Ali Siddiqui: Vikings Win, 33-27
Cole Smith: Vikings Win, 28-17

Mathematically en masse, we predict the Vikings top the Cowboys by a score of 28-24.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports.

Here are the season standings for our writers’ predictions:

Adam New: 9-0
Dustin Baker: 8-1
Dominique Clare: 8-1
Will Goodwin: 8-1
Mitch Massman: 8-1
Sean Borman: 7-2
Janik Eckardt: 7-2
Josh Frey: 7-2
Ted Schwerzler: 7-2
Ali Siddiqui: 7-2
Cole Smith: 7-2
Kyle Joudry: 5-4

Last week, Clare and New most accurately picked the outcome. Both chose the Vikings to win by four. The Vikings won by three.

The Vikings are currently one-point underdogs to defeat the Cowboys in Week 11. Dallas has beaten Minnesota at U.S. Bank Stadium thrice in a row.
