After brandishing a “clean slate” on the Week 1 injury report, the Minnesota Vikings had one notable player who appears to have a suffered an injury during the season opener.
Rookie cornerback Cam Dantzler (rib), who made his first career start last week, did not participate in today’s practice. He reportedly stretched with the team before leaving for the locker room. Dantzler played 64 snaps on Sunday, which was most among the team’s cornerbacks. It was a learning experience type of game for Dantzler, who allowed seven catches on seven targets for 81 yards and touchdown. He was also charged with two missed tackles, per Pro Football Focus.
No word yet on how long his rib injury will keep him out.

First-round rookie corner Jeff Gladney, who played nine snaps against Green Bay, would likely see the biggest increase in playing time if Dantzler were to miss any time. He was listed on the team’s injury report today (knee) but was a full participant in practice. Second-year cornerback Kris Boyd could also see more opportunities after playing exclusively on special teams in Week 1.
Wide receiver Bisi Johnson (knee) participated fully in practice.
Defensive ends Danielle Hunter and Kenny Willekes, along with safety Myles Dorn, remain on injured reserve. Linebacker Ben Gedeon remains on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
The Vikings travel to Indianapolis this Sunday to take on the Colts in their first road matchup of the season.

All three players who did not participate in practice today for the Colts are starters. Malik Hooker (illness) will likely be able to play on Sunday but the status of Jack Doyle (ankle/knee) and Zach Pascal (ankle) will be worth monitoring throughout the week.
