Holton Hill, the talented Texas corner with a myriad of off-the-field issues and who has been on IR since November 10th, was released by the Minnesota Vikings this afternoon.
With the vastly improved play of Cameron Dantzler, Jeff Gladney, and the inevitable return (and reinjury) of Mike Hughes (as well as Kris Boyd), the Vikings must’ve felt that Hill’s inability to stay on the field (whether via back-to-back suspensions in 2019, or injury this season), up-and-down play, and behavior issues were too much to bear.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we heard that something happened with Hill, as the Vikings didn’t earn a roster spot by releasing him randomly on a Wednesday. Although they did announce Hill’s departure as part of multiple roster moves.
