Hot dish in the fridge: Episode 7 [video]

By Tyler Haag

In this edition of HDITF, we update you on the news coming out of Eagan and talk about Stefon Diggs  and his new contract, Mike Remmers’ ankle issue and growing concerns over the O-line in it’s entirety. We give props (do people say that anymore?) to Dalvin Cook and Laquan Treadwell and give a big thumbs up to Holton Hill spending as much time with Xavier Rhodes as possible.

  • 1a) Diggs is going to be with us for a while ~ I was a little upset at first when I heard the price tag and because I knew his injury history but I have moved passed it after a couple of days ~ Plus I'm guessing that Spielman~Zimmer~DeFilippo along with the rest of the offensive staff know just a little bit more than I do when it comes to subject such as this ~

1b) Cousins is looking good so far based on everything I have heard and read ~ What 1 INT so far while learning new WR~TE~RB and a new OC in a new scheme ~ Treadwell sure seems to be benefitting from him ~

    2) The OL doesn't see to be all that bad ~ Hill is back from a stomach bug ~ Remmers ankle is said to only be a couple of weeks kind of injury ~ I have read\heard that Elflein should be ready and willing to go by week one ~

    3) Cook and Treadwell ~ What little I have seen of Cook in the training camp videos over on vikings.com he sure looks good cutting and he doesn't look like he has lost any speed ~ I would have been fine with Murray if Cook wasn't ready ~ But now that he is he and Murray should make for one of the better 1~2 punches ~ I'm excited to see the rookie RB's too once preseason starts ~

Treadwell's play so far has been a real shocker ~ This was going to be the last season I pull for him if he didn't somehow show some improvement ~ Hopefully, he can carry this kind of play over into the season ~ He and Cousins sure lit the defense up a couple of days ago ~ What was it ~ 6 redzone passes and 6 TD with 4 going to Treadwell ~ I like it ~ Yet I know it's only training camp and it's early in training camp too ~ But still I'm hoping ~

    4) Holton Hill ~ How great would it be if he became the Adam Thielen of the defense ~ It would be nice if he could do it a little quicker but it's the end results that count ~ If he and Mike Hughes could pan out it might take the pressure off of the Vikings if Trae Waynes is asking for too much in 2020 ~ Only so many big contracts you can give out ~ I hope they can find a way to resign Waynes if he playing in 2018 the way he played the last 10 games of 2017 ~
