This week, we bid adeiu to Uncle Norv. I try to decipher what the offense will look like going forward, and examine the Vikings fanbase’s rich history of dissatisfaction with offensive coordinators. Plus, the real reason the defense has regressed the last two games, and one final voyage for the o’l NORV shirt.
All this, and my (terrible) touchdown pick and score prediction. It’s Bump & Run, Week 9; we’re not going away, so you might as well get used to it.

Norv seems to have developed Joe Walton Disease: "A Super Bowl-winning QB credits me with making his career (Joe Theismann), I have a fabulous system (complicated and filling a very thick binder) and we WILL use it no matter the personnel. And, oh, that does mean running on first down even if the only halfback we have left was just signed off the street." So, while Turner was able to adjust nicely to Bradford and the offense actually survived with Peterson, Kalil and Smith - the latter two because the back-ups were either not much worse or actually better - he fell back on his recent Walton-esque tendencies just when someone (Hi, Coach Zimmer) decided to play musical chairs with his offensive tackles. Ugh. Shurmer should improve things, but Zimmer had best figure out the OT situation and stick with it right soon!
