Minnesota Vikings Release 2015 Regular Season Schedule

By Austin Belisle

The Minnesota Vikings have a chance to shine, or wilt, under the bright lights of Monday Night Football — they will open the 2015 regular season on September 17 in San Francisco, where they’ll take on the 49ers at 9:30 p.m. CDT in front of a national audience.

Late Tuesday night, the NFL released the full regular season schedule, giving fans a chance to plan tailgates, buy tickets, and assess their team’s long journey to the Super Bowl.

Minnesota Vikings 2015 Regular Season Schedule

For the seventh time in eight years, the Vikings will start the season on the road. Minnesota’s first four games will prove to be a litmus test for Mike Zimmer’s young team, as they’ll open in primetime against San Francisco, host the Lions and Chargers, then travel to Denver before a Week 5 bye.

The Vikings currently have the NFL’s 12th-toughest schedule, as their opponents finished 2014 with a combined winning percentage of .539. Notable matchups include a home game against the Seattle Seahawks on December 5, a Thursday Night Football showdown with the Arizona Cardinals on December 10, and the season finale at Green Bay on January 3.

All of the Vikings’ games will begin at noon, except the two night games, a 3:25 start on October 4 at Denver, and a 3:05 p.m. start on November 15 at Oakland.

  • I won't stop ranting about this late kick off for the opener until September 15th. The NFL will never let Vikings fans be happy!

  • Yeah...I'm gonna go ahead and take Sept 15th off. I'm not going to make a prediction yet, but I think we'll be in the fight all year long!

  • Im not thrilled about another early bye week. We just had an early bye in 2013 after they exported us to London. Thats crap that we have another one after just one season. Waiting until the last game of opening weekend is going to be horrible. We did get the Hall of Fame game, so we're up first in the preseason...consolation prize?

  • No worries the Vikings are going to do just fine! I like our chances I really hope AP is in the backfield if he is not i think it will be a real shame!

  • 11 wins.
6 wins at home: Detroit, San Diego, KC, St Louis, Chicago, Giants
5 road wins: Detroit, Chicago, Oakland, Atlanta, Arizona

  • Vikings vs cards is a prime time game, a possible destination for peterson... Coincidence?
