Fullback Matt Asiata was signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent following last year’s NFL Draft.
The Utah product was apparently impressive enough that the Vikings decided to extend him a two year futures contract offer, and Asiata accepted.
Asiata was cut prior to the 2011 season but then signed with the practice squad. He spent one week on the practice squad before hip issues caused him some problems and the Vikings let him go.
As it stands right now, Asiata would again be competing with Ryan D’Imperio for playing time at the fullback position.

I love the new site Adam. Great Job!!!! I just want to give my input on Landry Jones staying at OU. I believe this will create many trading partners for the Vikes during the draft. Washington will come calling, I am sure of that. Here's the dilemma though. If Kahlil is there at #3 for the Vikes, that would be a great pick, however would you still entertain trade offers?
Hey Norse good to see ya. I think they have no choice but to take Kahlil, just my gut feeling. But hey if some team is willing to give up the farm for that pick they may very well trade.
I also think they will have to take Kahlil. Like you said though it also comes down to what another team will give up for the number 3 pick.
Norse,
Ditto with Johnny, This years draft should be fun... If I remember right, You get pretty stoked yourself
Draft Day lol...
Haha I think you're right Charlie but last years "most stoked" award has to go to LeCount. lol
"Worst draft pick ever! Ahhh! F@#!!! That's it, I'm done as a Viking fan!!!"
Haha CC. Did you remember that or did you look it up? If I remember correctly LeCount did admit to having several Colt 45s in him. lol
Oh my I see on that twitter thing that Childo is getting an interview with the Bucs. It would be kinda funny to hear some more Bradisms as long as it's not in Minny
