The Arizona Cardinals released former Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford today. While you wouldn’t think that has anything to do with the Minnesota Vikings, you’d be wrong. As a result of Bradford’s release, Minnesota will lose out on what was supposed to be a high-round compensatory draft pick.
Latavius Muray will start at running back with Dalvin Cook out. The starting offensive line will include Riley Reiff, Tom Compton, Cornelius Edison, Danny Isidora, and Rashid Hill. Jaleel Johnson will start in place of Linval Joseph. Antwione Williams will start for Anthony Barr.
The Vikings are currently armed with eight picks in each of the next two NFL Drafts. Back in February, the Minnesota Vikings were awarded two compensatory picks. Compensatory picks are awarded to teams that lose more or better free agents than they acquire.
At this rate, the Minnesota Vikings are on the verge of having a Super Bowl caliber roster and actually keeping it together for years under the salary cap — that’s simply amazing.

The Vikings could be back up to seven picks tomorrow. According to Nick Korte of OverTheCap.com, the Minnesota Vikings are projected to receive two compensatory picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. The official announcement is expected tomorrow.
