The Vikings on Sunday announced that Adam Thielen (hamstring) has been downgraded and ruled out of the team’s Monday night matchup in Seattle. Thielen missed a practice this week due to a “slight scare” and he told reporters on Friday that he would not play if his hamstring wasn’t feeling 100 percent.
With the bye week in the rearview mirror, preparations for the Vikings’ Monday Night matchup against the Seahawks began on Tuesday morning. Multiple transactions were announced by the team and with players getting back to practice, things on the injury front appeared to take shape.
The Vikings activated wide receiver Josh Doctson to the 53-man roster on Friday. Doctson (6-3, 206; 26) signed with the Vikings after being released by Washington on Aug. 31. He was placed on injured reserve in early September after suffering a hamstring injury but returned to practice on Oct. 30.While there haven’t been any recent reports out of TCO highlighting the chemistry between Doctson and quarterback Kirk Cousins, it’s quite evident the two shared a rapport on the football field not long ago.
The Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday waived wide receiver Davion Davis. Davis, 22, has appeared in two games this season and tallied a season-high nine snaps against the Cowboys on Sunday night. A corresponding roster move was not announced. However, the transaction could be an indication that wide receiver Josh Doctson will soon be activated from injured reserve and placed on the team’s 53-man roster.
