Coming into the season, Sam and I did a prediction podcast episode. I don’t think either of us thought Minnesota would be sitting at 6-1, but here we are. Both of us are happy to be wrong. On the latest episode of Notes from the North – our humble Vikings podcast – we offer a very brief assessment of the most recent game.

Take a look at Sam’s description of the episode: “Kyle and Sam are back to discuss another Vikings win. They breakdown the game including highlighting a dominant performance from Za’Darius Smith, and then take a look ahead, including an update on the NFC North.”

Perhaps the most impressive part of yesterday’s game was the defense. Smith has climbed to 8.5 sacks, pushing the combined total for himself and Danielle Hunter to 11.5 after 7 games. Hopefully, Hunter can start matching his pass rushing partner.

One of the main ideas we explore is that it certainly felt like Minnesota was in control of the game. For most of the game, Minnesota was the better team. Unfortunately, some thoughts of “here we go again” started to creep back up as Arizona made it close in the second half. Nevertheless, it’d probably be fair to say that the better team won on Sunday.

Generally speaking, Sam likes to offer a Minnesota Wild update. Our schedules have been quite busy lately, so we trimmed it to save some time. Committed hockey fans will know far more than I do at this stage, so I’ll merely note that the Wild stand at 4-4-1 in their young season.

Folks who are into Vikings podcasts or think they’d like to get into Vikings podcasts should feel free to give Notes from the North a shot. Hop over to iTunes, Spotify, or Podbean. My understanding is that you don’t need an account at these spots. Just press play and enjoy the pod.

Enjoy the listening, Vikings fan.
