Notes from the North: Finding Ways to Win

Very few would have put the Vikings at 7-1 at this stage in their season. Alas, they’ve achieved the record they deserve: a fantastic one that puts them in full control of the division. What’s more, they’ve got a decent shot at claiming the conference. Notes from the North – a humble Vikings podcast hosted by yours truly and partner-in-crime Sam – unpacks the recent win over the Commanders.

Take a look at what Sam had to say: “On this week’s episode, Kyle and Sam break down the Vikings come from behind win against the Commanders. They discuss Cousins performance, the addition of Hockenson to the offense, and performances on defense from stars and rookies. They wrap up with a bit of a preview against the Bills and what gives them hope for the coming week.”

As we discuss in the podcast, seeing the Vikings get a win over the Bills would be massive. In many ways, the upcoming game is a bit of a litmus test. We’ll get a sense of just how good these Vikings are.

I’m a believer that wins are a QB stat, so seeing Kirk Cousins at 7-1 for the season is a positive development. The man has been clutch; of that there can be little debate. 7 wins and 4 of them have featured game-winning drives. Joe Oberle takes on this topic, offering his take on how we ought to understand Cousins in Minnesota. I, for one, am thrilled with how he has been playing.

Folks who are into Vikings podcasts or think they’d like to get into Vikings podcasts should feel free to give Notes from the North a shot. Hop over to iTunes, Spotify, or Podbean. My understanding is that you don’t need an account at these spots. Just press play and enjoy the pod.

Enjoy the listening, Vikings fan.
