FiveThirtyEight decided after the Vikings loss to the Philadelphia Eagles that Minnesota was the 13th-best team in football with the 10th most-likely odds to reach the playoffs.

With the snap of two fingers, the Green Bay Packers assumed presumptive control of the NFC North per Football Outsiders. The Vikings egg-laying was so vivid that it allowed the Packers to soar past Minnesota after Green Bay handled the Chicago Bears with ease on Sunday Night Football.

Minnesota’s odds of reaching the postseason increased after Week 2, an incredible occurrence after the Vikings were shellacked by the Eagles. The Vikings are technically in first place via NFC North standings, and no team besides the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants, or Philadelphia Eagles has taken the NFC by stranglehold.

Oddsmakers still like the Vikings to play meaningful January football.
