The Vikings Final Injury Report: Week 2

Could Move Down
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports,

The Minnesota Vikings travel to Philadelphia for a tryst with the Eagles on Monday at 7:30 pm CST, the second regular season game of the 2022 season. The Vikings and Eagles won in Week 1, setting up one of two showdowns among undefeated NFC teams in Week 2. The other matchup is the Tampa Bay Buccanneers at New Orleans Saints.

This week, D.J. Wonnum (EDGE), Lewis Cine (S), and Andrew Booth (CB) have battled minor injuries after a team-wide healthy preseason and start to the 2022 regular season. Wonnum was removed from the injury report on Saturday, along with Cine. And for Cine, he’ll make his NFL debut on Monday Night Football — quite the “welcome to the show” moment for the 1st-Rounder.

Overall, the Vikings are unusually healthy through one week of the season, a tendency eerily similar to the 2021 Los Angeles Rams, where head coach Kevin O’Connell was last employed. Perhaps the young skipper brought some good voodoo from Hollywood to Minneapolis.

These are each team’s injured players one day before Week 2.

Fletcher Cox (DE), Landon Dickerson (OG), Brandon Graham (DE), Lane Johnson (DT), Jason Kelce (C), Isaac Seumalo (OG), Jack Stoll (TE), and Josh Sweat (DE) were limited at practice at points this week, but all fully participated in practice on Saturday. Derek Barnett (DE) was lost for the season to a torn ACL in Week 1.

The Eagles are favored by two points over the Vikings in Week 2. Minnesota has downed Philadelphia twice since the Eagles prevented the Vikings from reaching a home Super Bowl in 2017.

Teams led by Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins are 6-3 (.666) against the Eagles in Cousins’ career.

The Vikings haven’t beaten a non-Chicago Bears team in a road Monday Night Football game since 2008.
