If you need a guide or refresher to determine how the Minnesota Vikings can improve on offense in 2022, look no further.

Minnesota hired Kevin O’Connell from the Super Bowl-winning Los Angeles Rams in February, a team with whom he led the offense as offensive coordinator. For the first time since 2010, the Vikings will employ a head coach with an offensive background, ending back-to-back regimes with defensive resumes in Leslie Frazier and Mike Zimmer.

The Vikings 2021 offense was a mixed bag, stuffed to the gills with weapons and playmakers but curiously beset by weird stretches of vanilla playcalling. The working theory is that offensive blandness can end with O’Connell.
