Notes from the North: Thanksgiving Fun

Well, Look Who's Leading the NFL in Pro Bowl Voting.
Matt Krohn-USA TODAY Sports.

The latest episode of Notes from the North – a humble Vikings podcast hosted by yours truly and Sam – spends a few minutes breaking down the win over the Patriots. Snagging the victory on Thanksgiving night pushed Minnesota to 9-2.

Take a look at how Sam describes the episode: “Kyle and Sam are back again to talk about another Vikings win, this time over the Patriots on Thanksgiving Thursday. They discuss Jefferson (again) and how he’s used, special teams, and the concerns still there for the defense. They wrap up by discussing the game against the Jets next week, and a brief talk about the Minnesota Wild.”

We end up spending a fair bit of time discussing the Vikings defense. The performance was far from inspiring. How concerned should fans be? I, for one, think that Ed Donatell needs to adjust the strategy and approach. That might involve blitzing more, putting more defensive linemen on the field, or playing more man coverage. What can’t occur is no adjustment at all.

On a more positive note, we spend some time discussing what makes Justin Jefferson so special. Kevin O’Connell does a great job of featuring his WR1.

Finally, Sam gives listeners a Wild update. A recent trade may end up helping Minnesota’s hockey team.

Folks who are into Vikings podcasts or think they’d like to get into Vikings podcasts should feel free to give Notes from the North a shot. Hop over to iTunes, Spotify, or Podbean. My understanding is that you don’t need an account at these spots. Just press play and enjoy the pod.

Enjoy the listening, Vikings fan.
