Kris Boyd Criticizes Vikings Fans after Win

The Minnesota Vikings were triumphant in a topsy-turvy London game over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, but cornerback Kris Boyd had some additional thoughts.

Evidently peeved by fair weather fans, Boyd tweeted, “We got some ungrateful fans. I don’t be on the internet looking for shit, but we won, and some were still complaining. We got a big Dub! We 3-1 STFU. Please find another team if you not satisfied or STFU!!??”

Boyd is referring to the dark nature of the internet, especially Twitter after a Vikings loss — or win, in this case — as fans tend to nitpick wins and lambast losses.

After the London game, a handful of Vikings fans were unimpressed that the game was so close, particularly because the Saints were without their starting quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and left guard. Too, early in the game, Minnesota settled for field goals when touchdowns would’ve been more advantageous.

And Boyd is no stranger to speaking his opinion in an uncensored manner. In June, Boyd chided the previous head coaching staff’s demeanor for its fear-based tactics. Speaking to Patrick Peterson on the All Things Covered podcast, Boyd sarcastically declared about the Vikings old coaching staff, They would walk around with their assholes, like, tight.”

He continued, “[They] would always be strict about everything. Like any time you messed up, it’s like the world ended.”

Boyd was wonderful on the field in London, forcing a fumble and recovering it on the same play.

After his tweet criticizing “ungrateful fans,” Boyd cleaned up his thoughts by commending the folks who enjoyed the Vikings win. In a separate tweet, Boyd wrote, “S/O the real ones who rocking wit us!”

The Vikings drafted Boyd in the 7th Round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He’s played 45 games with the club and routinely offers flamboyant opinions.

Minnesota returns home for Week 5, hosting the 2-2 Chicago Bears at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings are early seven-point favorites.
