Vikings Territory Breakdown: Training Camp is Here Let the Grind Begin!

The rubber is about to meet the road (and in this heat will likely melt), but it is time for the 2022 Minnesota Vikings Training Camp at TCO Performance Center in Eagan and we are all here for it. The offseason of change and massive expectation and speculation is over. Camp beings and it is now time to shut up and put up.

And it’s not a moment too soon, as we here at the Vikings Territory Breakdown podcast have nearly run out of storylines to examine. But Mark Craig from the Star Tribune and startribune.com and Joe Oberle from Vikings Territory and purplePTSD.com have save a few juicy ones for the final offseason podcast.

One of the biggest questions is what does the new regime bring to this team. The offense is basically intact, but the scheme will be new, so how will Kirk Cousins adjust to yet another offensive coordinator in his time in Purple? Meanwhile, the defense has been retooled with a number of new faces and a defensive scheme and coaching staff to boot. We will ask Craig what he expects from them this season. We will have a few random personnel issues to discuss, such as who will be playing right guard this season and other storylines Craig will be following come July 25. Look for some of these topics to be tackled: Defense, Run first or a Passing offense and Predictions.

And finally, a prediction segment in which we make some prognostications for the season. Many of those experts out there in the blogosphere have been all over the map regarding where they believe the Vikings are now and where they figure they will be in January. It’s all pure speculation at this point, but you can’t be right unless you make the call. Tune in to the Vikings Territory Breakdown podcast to see what call we make.

Segment 1: Run first or a passing offence

  • Is everything lining up for Kirk?
  • Will they or won’t depend on their star running back?

Segment 2: Defense

  • How concerned are we about the health of Danielle and Za’Darius?
  • Will the defense be better? It can’t be any worse.
  • What positions worry Mark the most?

Segment 3: National Predictions

  • National Predictions how did we fair?
