Sansevere: What bothers me about the Vikings’ win

Here’s what bothers me about the Vikings’ win: Why did it take so long for Mike Zimmer, Klint Kubiak and Kirk Cousins to realize your chances of winning increase when you throw the ball to Justin Jefferson?

In the previous two games before Sunday, losses to Dallas and Baltimore, Jefferson was targeted a combined total of nine times.

In Sunday’s 27-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Jefferson was targeted 11 times and caught nine passes for 143 yards.

Duh.

Every fan in America knew you have to get the ball to Jefferson to win, yet Zimmer and Kubiak and Cousins needed back-to-back losses to figure that out.

They can’t be that dumb. Or can they?

Also, it’s not a bad idea to feed the ball to Dalvin Cook, either. Cook ran for 94 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for another 24 yards.

Cook and Jefferson are elite players. They must get the ball. A lot. And while it’s great Jefferson finally got mega-involved in the offense, how about a few more passes to Cook in games?

Anyway, What bothers me about the Vikings’ win was the topic of conversation in this opening segment from The BS Show on Monday, which featured “Wrong About Everything” co-hosts Amy Koch and Brian McDaniel. (There are three more segments but this one laser focused on the Vikings.)
