The Minnesota Vikings on Thursday placed starting right guard Pat Elflein on injured reserve. He will miss at least the next three games with what Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported as a thumb injury suffered today in practice. He practiced in full yesterday.

Losing Elflein could create an opportunity for Dru Samia or Ezra Cleveland to fill in. The Vikings could also call up Aviante Collins or Brett Jones from the practice squad.

As for the injury report, it’s a mirror image of yesterday. Rookie cornerback Cam Dantzler missed his second straight practice with a rib injury while fellow cornerback Jeff Gladney (knee) and receiver Bisi Johnson (knee) practiced in full.

The Colts added three players to their injury report on Thursday. Defensive end Justin Houston (calf) and cornerback Isaiah Rodgers (ankle) did not participate in today’s practice while rookie wideout Michael Pittman, Jr. (toe) was a limited participant. Both Malik Hooker (illness) and Zach Pascal (ankle) returned to practice.
