As if this off-season couldn’t get any stranger, there’s a report, of sorts, coming out of the local sports radio realm in New York City claiming that the Vikings are working on a trade with the Cleveland Browns for Odell Beckham Jr.
So, as I reported this morning on @MandMWFAN, Source has told me that the Browns and Vikings are in discussions on a trade that would send @obj to the Vikings for a 2nd and 5th round pick next year. Trade is not done, but the deal is being discussed.

It’s hard not to dismiss this as it’d seem very strange to trade away Stefon Diggs for his diva behavior, only to bring in OBJ two weeks later. I made my feelings on this very clear a week or two ago, as I just can’t imagine OBJ and Zimmer getting along at the best of times, let alone during a rebuild.
However, if this were Madden and we were solely focused on output, replacing Diggs with OBJ would be a no-brainer. But that’s not how football works anymore, so it’d just be shocking for them to make this move (especially considering the cap implications).
Coming out of the Diggs trade with OBJ and a first round pick, would also seem like pretty crafty GM-ing, assuming Beckham Jr. isn’t a complete nightmare in 2020 and beyond, which is a big ask.
UPDATE: Go to guy to shoot down rumors like this, Darren Wolfson, Tweeted the following:
That new boss Berry wants to accumulate as many picks as he can over the next few years. Winning in 2020 will be hard there. So do I think he's open to moving OBJ? I do. I can't speak yet to the WFAN report, which has flooded my timeline. #Vikings https://t.co/TcFsIUMujk
