Vikings working on a trade for OBJ? Report says… Yes?!?

As if this off-season couldn’t get any stranger, there’s a report, of sorts, coming out of the local sports radio realm in New York City claiming that the Vikings are working on a trade with the Cleveland Browns for Odell Beckham Jr.

It’s hard not to dismiss this as it’d seem very strange to trade away Stefon Diggs for his diva behavior, only to bring in OBJ two weeks later. I made my feelings on this very clear a week or two ago, as I just can’t imagine OBJ and Zimmer getting along at the best of times, let alone during a rebuild.

However, if this were Madden and we were solely focused on output, replacing Diggs with OBJ would be a no-brainer. But that’s not how football works anymore, so it’d just be shocking for them to make this move (especially considering the cap implications).

Coming out of the Diggs trade with OBJ and a first round pick, would also seem like pretty crafty GM-ing, assuming Beckham Jr. isn’t a complete nightmare in 2020 and beyond, which is a big ask.
