The Nano Column –
(You can read it while at a stoplight, during a commercial break or when dropping a deuce.)

Imagine if NFL coaches treated losses the way President Trump has treated the election results…

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer is claiming the Vikings, despite their 6-7 record, have won 11 games and already have clinched a playoff spot.

Officials have made many, many bad calls and that should not be held against us,Zimmer said. We beat Seattle and Tennessee and Dallas and, come on, does anyone really believe the Atlanta Falcons are better than us?

The Vikings lost to the Seahawks, Titans and Cowboys by a combined five points and the Falcons were winless when they faced Minnesota.

Zimmer said the Vikings26-14 loss Sunday to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also belongs in the win column.

Did you see that pass interference penalty at the end of the half that set up a Tampa Bay field goal? No way that was interference. No way,Zimmer said. We also had three missed field goals and a missed extra point. Once we prove the Bucs moved the goalposts when Dan Bailey attempted his kicks, and they absolutely did, we win 24-23.

The math works, Zimmer insisted.

We are appealing to the NFL commissioner to have those five losses overturned into Ws,Zimmer said.

President Donald Trump tweeted that Zimmer has his full support.

The winless New York Jets, one-win Jacksonville Jaguars and 2-10-1 Cincinnati Bengals also are supporting the Vikingsappeal to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Just imagine.
