Is a Kyle extensions announcement on its way? It would appear so. While many were watching the Golden State Warriors force a game 6 late Monday June 10th Kyle Rudolph himself tweeted out the following:
— Kyle Rudolph (@KyleRudolph82) June 11, 2019
— Darren Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) June 11, 2019
This is big news as it had been recently reported that this situation may not be solved soon according to Ian Rapoport.
The offense clearly is looking to have a two tight end attack after drafting Irv Smith Jr in the 2nd round of the NFL Draft. Both Kevin Stefanski and Gary Kubiak have succeeded with two tight end systems. This will be a big boost for this team to not only know the conclusion to this situation, but to have this leader in the locker room.
This deal will likely lower Rudolph’s 2019 cap hit, allowing the Vikings to be enough under the cap to sign the practice squad and have extra money for the injury reserve fund. The details:
Vikings are giving veteran TE Kyle Rudolph a four-year, $36 million extension that locks him into Minnesota, per source. Rudolph not going anywhere, except back to the Vikings.
