The Minnesota Vikings were given three compensatory picks on Friday, February 22nd. Minnesota gained one sixth-round pick and two seventh-rounders. That gives the team eight total selections in the 2019 NFL Draft.

A third-round compensatory pick was supposed to be heading the Vikings way before the Arizona Cardinals released Sam Bradford on Nov. 3. Now, with the addition of the 209th overall (6th round), 247th overall (7th round) and 250th overall (7th round) comp picks, the Vikings officially have the following draft capital:

  • First-round pick (No. 18)
  • Second-round pick (No. 50)
  • Third-round pick (No. 81)
  • Fourth-round pick (No. 114)
  • Sixth-round pick (No. 178)
  • Sixth-round pick (No. 209)
  • Seventh-round pick (No. 247)
  • Seventh-round pick (No. 250)

For a complete breakdown of the compensatory free agents lost and gained, check out the cancellation chart on OverTheCap.com. Also from OTC, the Vikings will spend a projected $6.9 million on the 2019 draft class (as things stand now).

Currently, the Vikings are scheduled to pick in every round except the fifth. The team’s fifth-round pick was traded to Denver Broncos in exchange for quarterback Trevor Siemian before the season and a seventh-round pick was traded to the New York Giants for offensive lineman Brett Jones.

The NFL Draft, which takes place in Nashville, Tennessee this year, begins April 25th.
