According to NFL agent Brett Tessler, offensive lineman Josh Andrews will be signing with the Minnesota Vikings. He joins new Vikings offensive coordinator John DeFilippo as the second person the Vikings have added from the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Tessler noted that Andrews recently completed his fourth season with Philadelphia. Andrews originally signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He played college football at Oregon State. He spent his rookie year on the practice squad before playing in 16 games between 2015-2016.

Andrews was on the Eagles practice squad at the end of the season. Like former Vikings receiver Rodney Adams, practice squad players are considered free agents and can sign with any team of their choosing following the completion of their team’s season.

Andrews is 26 years old and is listed at 6-foot-2 and 311 pounds. He predominately plays guard but can play center as well. Both positions are considered areas of need for the Vikings. With the probable retirement of veteran Joe Berger and the recovery of center Pat Elflein and guard Nick Easton from broken ankles, the team could use some depth on the interior of the offensive line.

The Vikings have two centers, Elfein and Cornelius Edison, under contract for 2018. Danny Isidora is the only true guard signed through upcoming season. Easton and Jeremiah Sirles are both restricted free agents but are likely to re-sign with the Vikings.
