The Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday released the first injury report following the bye week. It was hoped that after a week of rest the team would be at or near 100% health. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

Not participating in practice were Anthony Barr, Andrew Sendejo and David Morgan. Barr did some work with trainers off to the side. He has missed two straight games nursing a hamstring injury while Sendejo, who was a full participant in practice Nov. 2, may have re-injured his groin. He was inactive Nov. 4 against Detroit and so far has been a non-participant in practice this week. Sendejo has missed the last four games. Morgan is a new addition to the injury report after suffering a knee injury last week against the Lions. He did not practice on Wednesday and could miss a couple of games.

Limited on Wednesday were Mike Remmers, Tom Compton, Xavier Rhodes and Adam Thielen. Rhodes is dealing with a foot injury that he suffered Oct. 21 against the Jets. He was able to suit up against the Lions after being limited in practice through all of Week 9. Thielen and Remmers are both dealing with lower back injuries.

It wasn’t all bad news today. Returning to practice were two starters, Stefon Diggs and Tom Compton. Diggs missed the Week 9 matchup against the Lions with a rib injury and Compton has missed the past two games with a sprained MCL. In addition to their returns, starting running back Dalvin Cook was not listed on the report. Also, nose tackle Linval Joseph was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice session.

The injury report may not have been all that was hoped for after the bye week, but there’s still a chance the team almost every player back before the Vikings (5-3-1) take on the Chicago Bears (6-3) Sunday night at Solider Field. We’ll have more on the team’s injury situation throughout the week.
