The offensive line injuries keep coming for the Minnesota Vikings. According to multiple reports, second-year tackle Aviante Collins sustained an elbow injury in practice last week that will sideline him for the rest of the 2018 season.

Collins put together an up-and-down training camp and preseason playing both tackle and guard and received reps with the first, second and third teams throughout the preseason. His versatility will surely be missed on an offensive line that is already thin.

The Vikings announced Monday afternoon that Collins was placed on injured reserve and that the team’s corresponding roster move was to sign guard Bryan Witzmann.

Witzmann is a native of New Brighton, Minn. and a South Dakota State alum. The 6-foot-7, 320-pounder started 13 games for the Kansas City Chiefs a season ago and has spent additional time with the Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints and the Dallas Cowboys since he was first signed as an undrafted free agent in 2016.
