The Minnesota Vikings have announced the players that will be inactive for this afternoon’s game against the New England Patriots. As expected, the two players listed as OUT on the team’s injury report will not play. Those players include wide receiver Chad Beebe and tight end David Morgan. Here are the remaining players that will be held out of Sunday’s divisional showdown in Foxborough:

Vikings

  1. WR Chad Beebe
  2. RB Mike Boone
  3. LB Devante Downs
  4. DL Jalyn Holmes
  5. Brett Jones
  6. TE David Morgan
  7. QB Kyle Sloter

The Vikings listed four players as questionable on Friday’s injury report including Mackensie Alexander (knee), Stefon Diggs (knee), Xavier Rhodes (hamstring) and Brandon Zylstra (foot). Alexander will play after practicing in full on Friday while Zylstra, who was a limited participant on Friday after missing the first two practices, will be a game-time decision. UPDATE: Zylstra is active.

Speaking of game-time decisions, Diggs apparently suffered a setback last night. After experiencing swelling in his knee, he had to test it out with a pre-game warmup. The workout must have gone well as Diggs will suit up for the game.

Rhodes, who also went through a warmup before the game to test his hamstring, is active for today’s matchup. He appeared to suffer a nasty injury last week against the Packers but Mike Zimmer described the infliction as “very, very mild.”

Tight end David Morgan will miss his third consecutive contest. Rookie Tyler Conklin and fullback C.J. Ham will again handle Morgan’s responsibilities.

Safety Andrew Sendejo, who was inactive the last six games, was placed on injured reserve earlier in the week. Cornerback Craig James was elevated from the practice squad to take Sendejo’s place on the 53-man active roster. James is active for his first career NFL game.

Welcome back!

Vikings linebacker Ben Gedeon returned to practice this week and was officially removed from the concussion protocol on Friday. He’ll return to the defense as the starting weak-side linebacker in base 4-3 formations.
