A New Candidate Emerges in Vikings Search for OC

Add another name to the list of possible candidates for the Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator vacancy.
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Vikings plan to interview Houston Texans quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan on Monday.
The #Vikings are casting a wide net for their new OC. In addition to Darrell Bevell and Kevin Stefanski, #Texans QB coach Sean Ryan is set to interview for the job Monday, sources say. Ryan currently here in Mobile coaching in the Senior Bowl.

Ryan, 45, is a native of Hudson Falls, New York.
He broke into the NFL coaching circles in 2007 as offensive quality control coach of the New York Giants under then-head coach Tom Coughlin. Ryan received a promotion to Wide Receivers Coach in 2010 and then again to Quarterbacks Coach in 2012. He was reassigned to the wide receivers in 2014 after Ben McAdoo took over as the offensive coordinator.
During his time in New York, Ryan was part of two Super Bowl victories. He has received praise for being instrumental in developing rookie wideout Odell Beckham Jr.
In 2016, Ryan was hired by the Houston Texans as Wide Receivers Coach. A year later he received a promotion to Quarterbacks Coach. Ryan has been credited for helping rookie Deshaun Watson to one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history before the quarterback tore his ACL on November 2nd.
Ryan also interviewed for offensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns before they hired Todd Haley.
