A Datone Jones Mother’s Day For The Ages
Mother’s Day gifts consist of flowers, heartfelt cards, scented candles, or spending quality time with family. Datone Jones, however, took things to a new level yesterday.
The Minnesota Vikings’ free agent acquisition, who signed with the team this offseason, bought his mother an unforgettable Mother’s Day gift this year. According to Jones’ Twitter feed, the defensive tackle purchased his mom a house for Mother’s Day.
The Packer-turned-Viking captured his mother’s reaction as she held a bottle of champagne, presumably “christening” her new Los Angeles home. Standing next to her is Jones’ wife Lauren, who is holding their daughter, Laila.
It was quite the moment for the Jones and his family. This heart-warming gesture provides a glimpse into Jones’ character, as the issue of integrity has been critical to the Vikings since the “Love Boat” scandal in 2005.
