For most fans, preseason football is the measly appetizer before a five-star meal. Sure, it’ll satisfy the palette for a moment, but it’s not the prime rib you’ve been eyeing on the menu.  Honestly though, who’s passing up on a meal before the meal?

No one! We all love preseason football, regardless of the subpar play and meaningless outcomes. It provides a first glimpse at rookies, an overdue look at the team’s returning starters, and a much-need reprieve from summer baseball.

The Minnesota Vikings won all four preseason games last offseason and carried that momentum into the regular season, starting the year 5-0. Their luck quickly changed, but the beginning of 2016 offered a few early “highs” amid the heartbreak. Will this year’s slate of preseason games bring similar good fortune? See the full schedule after the jump!

Preseason Week 1 (Aug. 10-13): at Buffalo Bills

Preseason Week 2 (Aug. 18-20): at Seattle Seahawks

Preseason Week 3 (Aug. 27): vs. San Francisco 49ers

Preseason Week 4 (Aug. 31): vs. Miami Dolphins

The Vikings’ Week 3 game against the 49ers will be broadcast nationally on NBC’s Sunday Night Football at 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 27th. As most fans know, the third preseason game is a “dress rehearsal;” a chance for the team’s starter’s to play extended snaps and prepare for the grind of a 16-game regular season.

Minnesota’s four-game run features some curious storylines, including a potential matchup against former Vikings kicker Blair Walsh and Latavius Murray’s return to his home state of New York.

According to the team’s official website, all Vikings preseason (excluding Week 3) games can be seen locally on KMSP Fox 9 TV and can be heard on KFAN-FM 100.3, KTLK-AM 1130 and the Vikings Radio Network.
