Purple FTW! Podcast – Episode 204 – #Faith Vikings-Packers Recap

The Minnesota Fightin’ Vikings fell to the Green Bay “our fans own stock, tee hee” Packers 30-13 Sunday afternoon at The Bank. The game was an opportunity to show the world that the Purple were more than just a young team on the rise, but we failed to do so due to mental mistakes, penalties and poor offensive line play. Ah well. The sun still rises tomorrow and we still get a chance to boatrace the Falcons next Sunday. Life at 7-3 is still darn good. But recap the game that was.

“Blerrrggggggg” Talking Points Include
• Squirrel > Ragnar
• The Offensive Line Regressed
• Teddy Outplayed Rodgers
• Norv Doesn’t Do Teddy Any Favors
• The Defense Did Not Have a Banner Day
• The Vikings Beat the Vikings with Penalties
• Eddie Lacy is Still Fat. (But Kinda Good Again)
• Kyle Rudolph Love
• Mike Wallace Shade
• Adrian Was MIA
• Not Ready For Prime Time?
• James Jones Was Wearing a Hoodie

All that and other “I Told You About the Shirts” nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! Podcast!

An Andy Carlson Joint.

  1. Maybe it’s a wake up call. I thought about this a couple days ago when I came to the realization we could lose. My thought was the old Star Wars thing, you know, where the old Obi Wan said to Darth Vader- “If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.”
Maybe this loss, this butt whoopin could serve us well going forward.
Good job Andy, especially noting McKinnon on the blocked punt. We should have been able to score after that…at least a FG….DAMN! And then they scored a freakin TD….Double damn. The refs gave them that TD. The penalty on Joseph….what the hell ever.

  2. Zim’s Zenster steps to success( learn how to lead, how to win, et. all) needs to include – being comfortable doing it in front of others. Our Long standing tendency to tease national attention is still in place.Packers clearly played like a team that had been there before, us not so much. We uncharacteristically had over 100 yards in penalties, it was their RB not ours that stilt the show, it was their offensive line not ours, it was their defense. . . Ok, let’s call it a learning opportunity.Well don’t have time to dwell. It’s Gone with the Wind and off to Atlanta

  3. The part that really kills me about the less is that GB was NOT playing very well. If they had come here and played like the scary efficient offensive team that we’re used to seeing, the loss would’ve been understandable (even if I still would’ve hated it)- but they didn’t. Their receivers were dropping balls. Aaron Rodgers was chucking balls into the ground 5 yards in front of his receivers feet. They were having botched routes and QB/WR communications. This was the same extremely beatable team that had lost their previous 3 games, and they came into our house and dominated us.
