Purple FTW! Podcast – Episode 107 – Vikings Camel Brackets with Tom Schreier of Cold Omaha & 105 The Ticket

Your bracket is toast, time to get back to Vikings football! Tom Schreier (@tschreier3) of Cold Omaha and 105 The Ticket joins the show to talk about the latest Minnesota Vikings news, what big things are going down at the Twin Cities newest sports radio station on the rise, as well as Tom’s path in the world of sports journalism at the co-founding of CO.

The Vikings continue to show that they’re truly a year round spectacle as there’s always news/drama brewing as we saw last week with Mike Wallace & the Pounceys, the latest stare-down between Spielman and Adrian’s camp, as well as Adrian birthday camel. Because why not. If AP doesn’t want to be a Viking, at least he can be Aladdin.

  1. From PFT: “Adrian Peterson doesn’t want to play for the Minnesota Vikings.

Even if Peterson hasn’t said those exact words up to this point, it’s become pretty clear through the posturing of his agent, Ben Dogra, that Peterson doesn’t want to remain in Minnesota.

Dogra declined a dinner invitation with Vikings general manager Rick Spielman at the league meetings currently underway in Phoenix. On Monday, Dogra ratcheted up the rhetoric in trying to get his client out of Minnesota.

“I don’t think it’s in Adrian’s best interest to play in Minnesota. Why would it be?” Dogra said, via Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com.”

I’m about done with this jackass. I’ve tried to be somewhat reasonable, but if AD’s listening to Dogra, he’s an absolute idiot. I’m so disgusted with the whole situation.

    1. Unfortunately I think Dogra is listening to AD. We really need to take whatever we can get before this train wrecks gets any worse. I think the Vikings have played this out beautifully. They knew AD and his camp would self-destruct any good will the fan base had left for him. So they just sit on the side lines saying “we want you back” saving face with the fan base meanwhile AD keeps at it. I felt like this was the motive all along. Now they can depart with AD and the fan base won’t turn on them. I know there are die hard Adrian apologists but the average Vikings fan wants him out regardless of compensation.
