Why There’s Hope For A Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl Victory

“A team is only as strong as it’s weakest player.”

I’m not a fan of that expression, partially because I know how it feels to be the weakest player and partially because if it were up to me, I’d simply replace the worst player on the team. But I digress.

Why bring it up then? It’s because nowadays, too many people analyze teams that way. A player has a bad game or a rough stretch of games and suddenly he’s garbage, and so is the team if they don’t replace the player immediately.

It’s simply not a fair judgement. There’s more to a team than meets the eye. A team wins and loses together, rolls with the punches, celebrates the good times, and changes individuals for the better.

The Super Bowl football game around Katy Perry (and Left Shark) is over, signaling the end to yet another fantastic season (on the field) of American tackle football. But luckily, this signals the giving way to my favorite season of all: HOT TAKE Season.

In honor of Episode 99 of the Purple FTW! Podcast, I threw together a list of 9.9 Hot Takes. Now these are definitely not #StoneColdHotTakes level of outlandishness (although my ‘Harbaugh to Ann Arbor’ call from September landed pretty well), but they definitely have some kick.

Boom. Roasted.

The Vikings aren’t playing this weekend, but either are 29 other NFL teams… what can you do?  Before getting this week’s Vikings links to you I just wanted to take a second to remind everyone reading this to be safe and smart during and after Sunday’s festivities.

Enjoy the big game, we’ll see the Vikings in there soon enough!

I had always hoped that Kevin Williams would get a Super Bowl ring.

Of course, I envisioned that ring being a result of him winning the Big One as a member of the Minnesota Vikings.  That never happened, but this coming Sunday will be Williams’ best chance ever at being an NFL champion, and it is certainly giving Vikings fans a reason to cheer for the Seattle Seahawks.

Williams will always be a big part of Vikings history (remember how he was drafted?) and the Vikings will always be a big part of his life. Going away for a season, even a Super Bowl winning season, still wouldn’t be enough to make Williams consider himself anything other than a career Viking.

With the Vikings hosting their mandatory minicamp this week, and media access for a portion of the event, there seems to be plenty of fresh content to pass along.  Also, there are a few new Vikings sites popping up, which is always great to see.

Go there.  Read it.  And tell them who sent ya.
