An updated look at the roster after an impactful free agency period. The Vikings made some noteworthy roster transactions during last month’s free agency period. After the addition (and subtraction) of many prominent players this offseason, let’s take a look at how the roster is shaping up.
There’s plenty of positions that could be addressed in the draft. The Vikings have made headlines this offseason. By signing free agents Kirk Cousins and Sheldon Richardson and trading for Trevor Siemian, the team has shored up its quarterback position and strengthened an already-stout defensive line.
The 13-year veteran has decided to call it quits. According to multiple sources, offensive lineman Joe Berger is hanging up the cleats. Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press was first to report the news. Berger, 35, initially showed interest in returning after the season.
Quarterback is important, but so are the trench-men. Lost in all the swirling speculation and rumors surrounding the Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback situation are the other positions on the roster that need to be filled. Offensive guard is one of them.
