The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. CST.

The Minnesota Vikings lost their starting running back for the season. On top of that, they lost their starting quarterback for six games, and counting. Yet, they’ve won three games in a row and sit atop the NFC North at 5-2. With the trade deadline just around the corner, will the Vikings make a move to try and better position themselves for a deep run in the playoffs?

Lets take a look at some players the Vikings could trade, some players the Vikings could acquire, and the likelihood of the move occurring, including a few trades that have been proposed by other writers.

Minnesota Vikings-Arizona Cardinals

The Minnesota Fightin’ Vikings finally got back in the win column for the firs time since October 9th (41 days). Mike Zimmer’s once vaunted defense became vaunted once again, getting consistent pressure on Carson Palmer and helped the Purple seal a 30-24 win Sunday at Historic US Bank Stadium.

In a move that some may consider a bit desperate, the Minnesota Vikings traded away a 2017 first round draft pick and an additional 2018 fourth round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for quarterback Sam Bradford on Saturday. Apparently, the Vikings felt they needed to do something drastic to achieve success this season after losing quarterback Teddy Bridgewater for the entire season to a knee injury less than a week ago.

Bradford is just the sixth quarterback since 2001 to be dealt to another team in exchange for a first round draft selection. The five who preceded him include Carson Palmer, Jay Cutler, Matt Schaub, Drew Bledsoe, and Trent Green.

The Minnesota Fightin’ Vikings did NOT lose by fiddy points as most of #VikingsTwitter expected, but did fall to the Arizona Cardinals 23-20 Thursday night. Teddy Bridgewater played one of the best games of his young career, yet will only be remembered for the strip sack that sealed the game for Arizona, the second game ending strip sack to end a 23-20 road game this season…

We discuss the game that was and look forward to the remaining games on the schedule while determining if the Vikings can hold off Tampa Bay for the Wild Card or if Green Bay can still get got for the NFC North crown (spoiler: they can).

Well at least #CheeseburgerGate was a fun distraction as the Minnesota Fightin’ Vikings limp into University of Phoenix Stadium tonight to take on the red hot 10-2 Arizona Cardinals. All the odds seem stacked against the 8-4 Purple as we struggle to keep our playoff hopes alive. At least McDonalds gave the team 100 burgers though…

Arif Hasan (@ArifHasanNFL) joins us for his weekly spot and we chat about how the Vikings can attempt to right the ship out in the desert. We also touch on whether Norv Turner needs to be fired for not catering to Teddy Bridgewater, if Adrian Peterson has a right to gripe about his usage, how the Zimmer Hellfire Defense can rebound from all of the injuries, and I complain about Jarius Wright not being a “true” slot receiver.

All that and other “I got the burgers that… will… I just got burgers” nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! Podcast!
