After a busy offseason for the Minnesota Vikings that included moving into a new headquarters, landing two prolific free agents, losing an offensive lineman to a season-ending injury, trading for a center, dishing out extensions and going 3-1 in the preseason, it’s finally time to set the regular season roster.
The Minnesota Vikings will undergo a roster transformation no more than two days after the final preseason game. By Saturday, September 1st (the 53-man roster deadline), more than a third of the players on the team will be waived.

The Vikings have signed free agent linebacker Reshard Cliett. Cliett, 25, was a sixth-round pick of the Texans in 2015. He’s 6-foot-2, 221-pounds. Cliett played college football at South Florida. He’s also spent time with the Chiefs, Titans, Cardinals, Jets and Broncos.

The linebacker is the latest Viking to leave Minnesota. According to multiple sources, former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Emmanuel Lamur has agreed to terms with the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders announced the signing Wednesday evening.
