The Minnesota Vikings took care of business at home against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, winning 20-7. Heading into the game there were questions of how the defense would perform, but Mike Zimmer’s squad quelled many of those concerns by nearly shutting out the Lions, holding Detroit to 231 yards of total offense just one game after allowing a season-high 444 to Seattle.
This news doesn’t come as much of a surprise. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Vikings receiver Adam Thielen is not expected to play today.
The playing status of a few members of the Vikings offense was given some clarity on Friday. The final injury report of the week was released, and it only listed two players.
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Vikings are expected to call up receiver Alexander Hollins from the practice squad to the 53-man roster for tonight’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Vikings on Sunday announced that Adam Thielen (hamstring) has been downgraded and ruled out of the team’s Monday night matchup in Seattle. Thielen missed a practice this week due to a “slight scare” and he told reporters on Friday that he would not play if his hamstring wasn’t feeling 100 percent.
