Alcatraz

Alcatraz

First of all, what is with the trend of TWO HOUR series premieres??!? It's a freaking chore just to give new shows a chance these days.

Anyways, did anyone catch the premier of "Alcatraz?" I was intrigued enough to record it and watch it... and while I'll probably keep giving it a chance for a few more episodes it really feels like it will end up in the "Just another detective show" category.

Very disappointed.

Cool, LeCount... now we'll have something (extra) to discuss on a weekly basis... if we both stick with it, that is. I'm still up in the air on it. It fared better to me than Terra Nova, though... gave up on that one after about 15 miserable minutes.

I wanted to check it out for the simple fact that it has ties to Lost and Hurley (one of the characters from Lost... don't know his real name) is in the show. I'll definitely check it out. Although, if it requires as much effort as it did to keep up with Lost, I probably won't be able to handle it. I really loved Lost for the first two or three seasons but then it just got too out of hand...

"Just another detective show." Have you seen Monk? Love that show... one of my favorites ever. It was great.

Alcatraz doesn't do too much for me yet. The main show I like is Sons of Anarchy.

Gave up on Alcatraz... just couldn't do it anymore. Felt like a chore.

"Justified" is great once again this season.

Adam, both Ron and I are HUGE 'Justified' fans. Last year tho, it seemed like they had changed writers, as the episodes were sometimes lacking (Not enough shootouts!)
The only thing I hate about the show is Raylon carries a Glock (YUCK!) and not a 1911.
By the way, I'm giving odds that Boyd Crowder is shot by Raylon this year. Maybe not killed but definatly shot.

Yeah, we love Justified in the house. Mrs. Warwas is quite impressed with Rayland and his jeans... she reminds me of that every time we watch the show. I guess maybe I should lose the cargo pants and beanie, trading them in for wranglers and a stetson. :)

Rayland shooting Boyd? That'll get interesting. Good villans this season, that's for sure.

Back to Alcatraz, have any of you gone there? I highly recommend you do so, it is a very interesting experience. What an existence those prisoners and staff had!
