Merry Christmas To All

December 24, 2012, by Adam Warwas 15 comments

While I still contend that Christmas for Vikings fans came in April, I wanted to drop a simple note wishing you all a very Merry and safe Christmas.

Enjoy time with family and friends.  Eat, drink, and be merry.

After the break we’ll proceed with Packer week, but until then allow yourself this time to celebrate and cherish the new memories that are sure to be made.

Merry Christmas.

Let’s Open This Thing Up Again

November 28, 2012, by Adam Warwas 24 comments

Alright… let’s do this thing.

Once again, I would like to open the floor up to you all.  Post some questions in the comments section of this post and I will do my best to hit as many as possible sometime this weekend.

Preference will be given to questions regarding the upcoming matchup against the Vikings, the Vikings quarterback situation, and what it is like to work with the great Brett Anderson.

Open Mic Night Here At VT

November 9, 2012, by Adam Warwas 8 comments

Well, Gil and Brett beat me to the daily reporting stuff in the two posts below this one, and when I sat down to do my nightly writing I couldn’t really think of anything to type that wouldn’t be completely redundant, that didn’t feel like a forced opinion, or that wasn’t just plain boring.

So, it’s been awhile since I have opened this thing up to questions from the floor.

Leave me a question about Vikings football (or whatever) in the comments section below and I’ll try to answer as many as possible prior to kickoff on Sunday.

Gil Alcaraz IV: An Introduction to VT

October 30, 2012, by Gil Alcaraz IV 16 comments

To the readers of Vikings Territory,

I, Gil Alcaraz IV, would like to formally introduce myself to the VT community as one of the new contributors.

Although a few of you may already know me from my other sites TheVikingDen.com or RantSports.com, I’ll give you a quick rundown of my credentials as a Vikings writer and NFL analyst. After playing football for seven years, including a brief stint at Occidental College (D3), I took my football prowess to the written word. Including work with Yahoo! Sports and USA Today, I’ve spent the last four years honing my skills as a sports journalist and football expert.

Enough about the writing experience, though. What matters is my standing as a Vikings faithful.

My love for the purple and gold started when I was much younger, around the age of 10. While watching a Vikings-Panthers game with my dad, I witnessed a phenomenal play courtesy of then-Minnesota quarterback Daunte Culpepper. I immediately told myself that I wanted to make plays like that, and I joined my local Pop Warner team shortly after. At that point, I was hooked.

Since that day, I’ve possessed an unwavering passion for the Vikings. From the years that they flirted with the playoffs, to the huge letdowns via Brett Favre and everything in between, I’ve worn my horns with pride.

I started The Viking Den a year ago in hopes of sharing my purple thoughts with the public, but have since seen it suffer with my ever-growing role with Rant Sports as a Network Manager. Still, I’ve decided to join Brett and Adam, and am ready to begin spilling my Vikings knowledge out onto the pages of VT.

My presence on VT might be sporadic at times, but I’m always available via email (galcaraziv@yahoo.com) or Twitter. If you have any questions or just want to talk Vikings, don’t hesitate to contact me.

I’m excited to be a part of the VT team and can’t wait to help this site become one of the best Vikings blogs on the Web.

No matter the end result of this 2012 season for the Vikings, always remember: SKOL!

Some Festive Product Placement

October 11, 2012, by Adam Warwas 2 comments

Ever since I made the switcheroo from Vikings Gab to my own site, one of the most disappointing aspects of the whole thing is that I was no longer included on a bunch of marketing mailing lists that resulted in me getting a bunch of free Vikings stuff.

Today, however, I received an email that perhaps made me wonder if Vikings Territory isn’t getting a little bit of notice these days.  The timely email provides not only me, but all of us, with a fun little treat for the Halloween season.

I present you with the Sack-O-Lantern (my name, not theirs, TRADEMARKED!):

A full and free set of stencils and instructions can be found by clicking here, and Jared Allen isn’t the only player available.  Should you decide to channel your inner-child this October, you could also opt for an Adrian Peterson or Percy Harvin pumpkin carving kit.

Anyways, I thought I’d pass this along on the off-chance one of you (or your kids) might enjoy celebrating some of these victories with a customized Vikings pumpkin.

So, that’s all for now… until somebody else sends me something free to promote, ahem, here’s looking at you DirecTV and Cabela’s.

Adam’s Back, So Let’s Chat!

September 29, 2012, by Adam Warwas 20 comments

Howdy all!

So, the Warwas family (dog and all) is finally settling into a new life in Ohio after a very chaotic couple of months.  It was heartbreaking to leave Alaska, but here we are.  I found us some new digs, a set of wheels, and am settling into my new job.

The most significant development for you all, however, is that I finally have internet!  I never would have guessed that in the year 2012 it would have taken three weeks to get internet installed at my home, but that was indeed the case.  A huge thanks from me to Brett for keeping the site going in my absence, but I am thrilled to be back!

To celebrate, I am aiming to have a live chat right here at VT during Sunday’s game in Detroit.  Please, join me, and I will catch up with you all.

See you soon!

The Season Begins: Week 1 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

September 8, 2012, by Brett Anderson 129 comments

Alright, first things first: our absence… Adam and I sincerely apologize for not having more updates recently here at Vikings Territory. Adam, as most of you probably know, is in the process of hauling his entire life (and family – which includes his newly born daughter) across the map. I on the other hand have been somewhat out of the loop because I’ve been dealing with some family issues. I told Adam I would do the best I could to keep the site updated with fresh content during his move… Unfortunately, some things came up that also required me to travel. Coincidentally, I am currently in Minnesota. What makes things even more frustrating is that I will literally be a few miles from from Mall of America Field as the Vikings kick off the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars and unable to attend the game. Do not fear, though, because I WILL be watching from somewhere else surrounded by ecstatic purple enthusiasts.

So, with all that being said, we are incredibly excited about this season and the things we have planned here at Vikings Territory during the year. Our lives should be back to normal soon which means consistent, new content. We thank you for your understanding as well as keeping the site pumping with some good conversation through comments.

Now, let’s get to the game.
