Talk about waking up to good news. According to multiple sources the Minnesota Vikings are closing in a five-year extension for wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The deal will keep Diggs in purple for the next six seasons. The news was first reported by Tom Pelissero.
Berger played under Tony Sparano in Dallas, Miami and Minnesota. Former Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Joe Berger appeared on KFAN radio Wednesday. Speaking with radio host Dan Barreiro, Berger talked about his late coach Tony Sparano as well as his decision to retire earlier this offseason.
The young center is recovering from two injuries. The Minnesota Vikings placed second-year center Pat Elflein on the PUP list Wednesday. Elflein is recovering from a broken ankle that he suffered late last season. The 2017 third-round pick is also dealing with shoulder issues.
Quinn spent minicamp with the Indianapolis Colts. The Minnesota Vikings signed center J.P. Quinn Tuesday. Quinn played collegiately at Central Michigan. He started 27 games, playing both center and guard. Quinn is listed at 6-foot-4, 295 pounds.
The Vikings round out their 2018 draft class. The Minnesota Vikings locked up the last of their eight draft picks Thursday, signing first-round pick Mike Hughes to a four-year contract. The 5-foot-10, 189-pound cornerback was taken with the 30th pick overall in April’s draft.
