Vikings Training Camp Live 2016: Day 10 Practice

Believe it or not, the time has already come for the Minnesota Vikings last training camp practice in Mankato for 2016. After today’s final practice in Minnesota, the team will head to Cincinnati for two joint practices with the Bengals on Wednesday and Thursday.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has his team (and myself) up bright and early for today’s practice, but no worries as we still have full coverage of this morning’s activities. So grab a donut, some coffee, or just throw some cold water on your face to wake up and join me for practice from Mankato one last time.

Let’s go!

8:00am – Practice is about to begin and the Vikings will already be without another player today due to injury. This time it is left tackle Matt Kalil. Hopefully it is nothing too serious and just precautionary.

8:05am – In addition to Kalil, a number of Minnesota’s players are sitting out this morning’s practice. Whether it is truly due to injury or they are just not morning people remains to be seen.

8:25am – The Vikings are beginning practice with some individual position group drills. Also, with Kalil out today, T.J. Clemmings will be getting first team reps at left tackle.

8:30am – On a side note, after today’s practice, there may only be one more training camp in Mankato. The Vikings are scheduled to open a new headquarters/practice facility in 2018 and many are assuming that their training camp will take place at their new home.

8:35am – Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater already firing away this morning. A lot of attention has been paid to how deep some of his passes have been thrown throughout this year’s training camp. Will that continue into the season?

8:45am – Different day, but more of the same as Minnesota’s wide receivers and defensive backs continue their intense training camp battle.

8:50am – Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson has missed most of training camp due to injury, but he is on the field today and seems to be making the most of it.

8:55am – Charles Johnson has been one of the best performers throughout Minnesota’s training camp this summer. His play at camp has lead to Johnson being named as one of the Vikings top two receivers on their first preseason depth chart.

9:00am – This has been probably stated in every live camp blog so far this summer, but Minnesota is doomed this season if Teddy has to miss any time due to injury.

9:05am – FIGHT!

9:15am – The final practice of the Vikings 2016 training camp in Mankato has concluded. Thank you for joining myself and the rest of the Vikings Territory staff for each and every practice this summer. We will continue to have the latest updates and previews leading up to the team’s first preseason game in Cincinnati on Friday. But once again…

Thanks for joining!
