Pros

NFL size, strength, and length teams covet in a #1 wide receiver.

Well-built with a muscular upper body and long arms.

Smooth and fluid long strider with enough speed to be a vertical threat.

Natural hands catcher who can pluck the ball away from his body and win 50/50 contested throws.

Can create yards after the catch with his strength and athleticism turning short routes into big gains.

Competitive self motivated team leader who can handle adversity and play well in big moments.

Good blocker. Powerful and violent with good leg drive to move defenders away from the play.

Explosive first step with strong arms to win against press coverage.

Accomplished route-runner who uses head and hip fakes to sell the route and gain separation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Cons

Suffered a broken fibula as a sophomore in 2014.

Doesn’t have elite speed. Lacks a second gear to separate when the ball is in the air.

Not a finished product as a route-runner. Relies too much on his physical gifts and needs to improve his consistency and technique.

Plays with physicality and emotion which led to false starts and personal fouls.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][/vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1455937258789{padding-top: 15px !important;}”]

NFL Player Comparison:

A combination of Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys and DeAndre Hopkins of the Houston Texans. Bryant was selected 24th in 2010, and Hopkins was drafted 27th in 2013. Yes, hope is in the air that Treadwell will fall to the Vikings with the 23rd pick.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The Vikings Slant

The Vikings have pass catchers that can play FAST, but what Teddy Bridgewater really needs is a receiver who can play BIG. “Megaquon” offers a nice blend of size, strength, and elusiveness at the wideout position currently missing on the roster.

Treadwell is a natural hands catcher with outstanding body control who can climb the ladder and make the tough catch in traffic. He has great quickness off the line to beat press coverage and provides consistent production on underneath routes as a proven possession target. Few receivers use their body better to gain position on a defender than Treadwell. His ball skills and natural feel for the game should lead to early success in the NFL.

Treadwell is projected as a top ten talent. The only way the Vikings hope to land him is if he runs a slow forty at the combine, or if the Vikings trade up to get him. Frankly, I’m ok either way because Treadwell is a perfect fit for the Vikings.[/vc_column_text]
