With the deadline fast approaching for the Vikings to cut their roster to 53 players today, there is plenty of intrigue regarding what the Vikings will and won’t do, but the Minnesota Vikings trade rumors continue to steal the show in the aftermath of Teddy Bridgewater’s injury.

As Rick Spielman indicated, the Vikings appear to be checking in on the availability of quarterbacks, and Wade Phillips (perhaps mistaking his tweet for a text message) made an interesting appearance today.

Phillips quickly deleted his tweet, however, but not before the internet made it permanent leaving Vikings fans to wonder if Sam Bradford could soon be joining the team.

Bradford is certainly an intriguing option, to fans and the Vikings front office alike, and this rumor may end up having some substance behind it. However, there is no indication at this time that there are any actual talks going on.

Another hot topic this morning revolves around Vikings wide receiver Jarius Wright.

Ben Goessling of ESPN heard this morning that the Vikings plan to keep six wide outs, but Wright is someone they are trying to move. Proving that Ryan Boser isn’t alone in getting bad information from sources this time of year, Matt Vensel of the Star Tribune quickly and directly contradicted that report.

If Wright were indeed to be traded, and the Vikings were indeed planning to keep six wide receivers, there is a whole new level of speculation at play here because it is difficult to pin down exactly which receiver they would employ in that sixth spot. If Wright is on the roster, that answer is a lot clearer.

Stay tuned here at Vikings Territory as we’ll have updates throughout the day on all of the movement.
