Draft Weekend Excitement Is In The Works!

2016 NFL Draft Schedule

Here at Vikings Territory we love the NFL Draft. All of us, we love the NFL Draft. We look forward to seeing who will become the newest Minnesota Viking and we look forward to sharing every minute with all of you. We will have Minnesota Vikings Draft Live Chat, updates from the belly of the beast, and tons more that will make us your one-stop shop for everything during Draft Weekend.

Here is what we have lined up this year:

REPORTING LIVE FROM WINTER PARK

We’ll have a guy as close to Rick Spielman and the Vikings’ “war room” as you can get, and that guy is none other than Austin Belisle. Austin will be providing live updates from within the Vikings headquarters all weekend long.

Be sure to check our main page for all of Austin’s latest articles and follow him on Twitter. He’s got a personal goal of beating out all of our favorite beat writers this year in terms of bringing the VT readers all of the most important news first, so make sure to check back often!

MINNESOTA VIKINGS DRAFT LIVE CHAT

As I type this, Brett Anderson is feverishly working to compile an amazing page with all the draft content one could want to have. The centerpiece of the page will be the ever-popular Live Chat,  and we invite you all to join the best Vikings fans on the internet to discuss everything Draft Weekend has to offer in real time.

The Live Chat will be mainly hosted by Brett. Plenty of other VT writers have vowed to co-host the event throughout the entire weekend,  including Sam Neumann and myself. We will have another post coming soon to announce the official hours that the chat will be hosted, but it will essentially be open all weekend long.

TIMELY ANALYSIS

Our resident draft guru Carl Knowles has a knack for providing some of the most reasonable and even-handed analysis of each prospect as you’ll find on the internet.

Carl will be updating our main page with timely reactions to each selection made by the Vikings front office. You can be assured that you’ll be in the know about the newest members of our beloved purple and where each player fits into the current depth chart.

THE CONSTANTLY UPDATED BIG BOARD

I mentioned earlier that Brett is putting together the mother of all Draft pages. One feature that you’ll want to keep a very close eye on is our “Consensus Big Board” that will be updated in real time to highlight the best remaining prospects left for the Vikings to consider.

Keep an eye out for the Big Board to be unveiled in the coming days!

IMMEDIATE DRAFT GRADES

As a popular carryover from last year, the readers of VT will have a chance to make their immediate reactions to each pick known. Shortly after each selection is made (or each trade completed) our main page will be updated with a poll asking you to grade the decision and make your opinions known in the comments section.

NIGHTLY ‘BEST OF THE REST’ UPDATES

After all the action unfolds on Thursday and Friday, we definitely have you covered in terms of breaking down the Vikings selections. However, our Adam Patrick will be keeping a very close eye on things to come with his “Best of the Rest” series that will highlight potential targets that Vikings fans should keep a close eye on the following day.

DAILY RECAPS OF EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Sam Neumann will summarize the action from all three days on a nightly basis with all of the important information you’ll be craving throughout the weekend. Whether it be news, opinions, trade breakdowns, or quotes of note… Sam will be on top of it all and put everything into perspective each night.

You should also be sure to keep an eye out for Sam’s “First Round Diary” which will be posted sometime Friday morning.

PROBABLY MORE…

We have other items in the works, as well, which will put our coverage over the top in 2016. Check back all week long for updates as to what you can expect out of this year!

In the meantime, be sure to feast on our constantly-growing list of Scouting Reports and brush up on your Vikings targets before the Draft gets started.
