Grade The Pick: Vikings Fifth Selection Is Moritz Boehringer

The Minnesota Vikings have been busier today than the previous two days of the Draft, but that is to be expected. You can assign a Kentrell Brothers draft grade by clicking here, in case you missed it.

So far the picks have been: WR Laquon Treadwell, CB Mackensire Alexander, OL Willie Beavers, and linebacker Kentrell Brothers.

The Vikings first selection of the sixth round came in the form of a well-known German wide receiver Moritz Boehringer who VT highlighted as a real possibility earlier this month.

Boehringer is big (6′ 4″ and 227 pounds), fast, and a hands catcher. He really is everything you would hope to find in an NFL receiver, but he is expected to be a very raw project that some have equated to a high schooler trying to make the leap to the NFL.

People will call him this year’s Jeff Janis, and he’s an early favorite to be this year’s “Mr. Mankato,” but he’s got a very crowded depth chart ahead of him and an uphill battle. His best bet is going to be to come in and establish himself as an asset on special teams.
