Love the pick. Patterson could be a stud.

Also really like DeAndre Hopkins from Clemson. Plays big for his size. Way he plays reminds me of a smaller Fitz.

    • Carl K March 1, 2013, 1:41 pm Reply

      Randy I like Hopkins too.
The Vikings might be too far down to land Patterson or Allen. The Vikings can’t wait til the back end of round 2 for a WR.

I think D Hopkins is my “realistic” target for the Vikings.

He was a stud in the Chick-Fil-A bowl vs LSU. I would love to have Patterson or Allen.. but Hopkins is also worthy of the 23 pick.

The Packers will NOT take another TE, especially in the first round. They have FIVE tight ends on the roster already! With one of the worst offensive lines and needing a lot of help on the defensive side, they will go O-line, D-line, or ILB in the first round.

Even with the red flags I’d take Ogletree over Teo

  4. CSlinde February 21, 2013, 1:22 pm Reply

I think Barkley will go to OAK and Patterson to CLE

  5. Odin March 1, 2013, 8:53 am Reply

Hmm, there are several great LB’s that just passed the Vikes by, Arthur Brown to the Peckers. When I look at mocks I look at what the Div teams are doing. Passing Arthur Brown, Ogletree and Minter are possible risks IMO as the Vikes could get burned with WR early. Take LB 1 DT 2 and then WR 3, PH is a must resign and use some of that 14 + mill in cap space to bring in a free agent WR as well. Ponder needs weapons but he also needs to prove he can actually pass the ball. D is key for the Vikes 1 and 2. I wouldnt push WR just to compensate for Ponders lack of production. WR is a need but a need that can be filled with PH signing, 1 free agent WR and a draft pick better served in the 3rd or 4th rds.

    A couple of observations:

    1. There is no way Sheldon Richardson get picked before Sheriff Floyd. Floyd is an absolute beast!

    2. Lane Johnson will not make it down to the bears. He could very well go in the top 15 picks.

    3. The Rams need a LT. I could very easily see Lane Johnson going to there if he makes it that far. Branden Albert has been a failure there and possibly could not be back with the Rams.

    4. Demontre Moore will not go in the first round.

    5. This draft is going to be incredibly hard to figure out due to the fact that that there is not clear cut “elite” players. There is a lot of talent in this draft sans the QB’s. Free agency could provide some clarity, but it will still be a crap shoot.

    • Tim March 30, 2013, 11:27 pm Reply

      A. Floyd is a workout beast. Not always there on tape. B. Branden Albert is a Chief, not a Ram and he’s been pretty damn good. Allowed one sack all season here in 2012. He has also allowed less qb pressures and hits than Ryan Clady and Jake Long the last two seasons. C. Damontre Moore was considered a top 5 talent before a lackluster combine. He will not slip out of the first round after a bad combine with his production in the SEC. Someone will take a chance on him.

Cool an April 10th update on April 9th. LOL. Hey Trufant and Te’O are my 1st round picks for the Vikes as well. Not sure I had seen anyone else with that combo. My feeling is this draft is supposed to be deep at WR and DT so take a CB and MLB 1st. Better yet, slide down in the 1st round and use the extra picks plus one of our 4th rounders to trade back up to the early 2nd round. We still may get Trufant and Te’O plus add a second rounder. That’s 4 picks in the 1st two rounds! How bout we pick the WR that slips to the second round. Either Hunter, Woods or Hopkins. Then take the best DT remaining. Maybe Hankins or Short? If they play their cards right and find a trade partner, the Vikings could end up with CB Trufant, MLB Te’O, WR Hunter, DT Short, SS Wilcox in the first 3 rounds. I like that!

  8. William April 24, 2013, 11:11 pm Reply

Giving up my season tickets if we draft Te’o!!!!!! He is a joke and there are 4 or 5 other linebackers that will go later in the draft that are far better with bigger upside. Alabama ran him over and showed he would look like a kid playing a man’s game when he gets to the NFL.

    • Purple Love April 25, 2013, 11:43 am Reply

Not sure why you would judge the guy on one game, try watch some high lights from the season.. The kid can play.
So what he had a fake gf, I would not care he had 3 and a unicorn in his back yard, as long he get to the qb.

  9. Kurt April 24, 2013, 11:14 pm Reply

I agree with William…….the Te’o pick would be as big a waste as the Troy Williamson screw up!

  10. sean April 25, 2013, 8:00 am Reply

Look at Teo’s body of work vs one game. Yes he has been beat up with the hoax. It is what it is. Outside of that, if it never happened, he wouldnt even be a consideration at 23 as he would be gone very early. He offers leadership and ability to fill our need at ILB. We’ll see purple people, but Teo and Sylvester would be huge for this D.

  11. Purple Charlie April 25, 2013, 2:33 pm Reply

Like the picks, Manti might not get past the Bears.
